Tuning into Q92 FM
92.5, Montreal's Lite Rock station Thursdays and Fridays,
beginning at 11 P.M., and from Saturdays at midnight,
will find you entering the Larry's Backspin zone. Until
4 A.M., your ears will find themselves hooked and your
mind will find itself taken back to a time that few
can dispute was the Golden Age of music. Groove to the
sounds of the '70s, '80s, and early '90s featuring the
hottest pre-produced and live sets showcasing the best
of that groundbreaking era. Club Funkytown is the setting
Thursdays and Saturdays, while an exuberant in-studio
Friday show will remove all temptation from touching
the dial.
Backspin brings you
the hottest dance music from the period where it lit
the music world on fire. From the 1970s funk and disco
movements through 1980s new wave and the beginnings
of hip hop through to the early '90s electronic music
revolution, Backspin proudly brings you only the very
best of music from that irreplaceable era. Using pre-produced
as well as live 30-minute sets, you will find yourself
unable to resist the allure of the best commercial dance
music of that era, one that will likely never be seen
again.
Produced and mixed
by impresario Larry Day, who assures strict quality
control and a good time for all, he believes the blending
and mixing of the music holds the key to Backspin's
solid quality. Thrown into the mix, so to speak, are
features such as "Where Are They Now?," updating
listeners on their favorite stars of yesteryear, "Year
in Review" segments to really capture a particular
time in the musical landscape, and "Spotlight Artists"
mini-spins, an attempt to encapsulate the best of a
performer's career by focusing on their Best of the
Best commercial successes.
Of course, mega-spins
of the best dance music has had to offer for the past
three decades provides the backbone of one complete
musical experience. On Backspin, there is more than
one way to listen to great dance music. Formats can
vary from hearing a set derived from a specific year
which can bring back great memories. Or it may be some
of your favorite artist's greatest hits.
We're sure you'll agree
that Q92 FM's Backspin is not only something to listen
to on the way home from a club or a restaurant from
Thursday through Saturday, but a voyage to the best
of times with the hottest tracks, professional presentation,
and a mutual good feeling experienced by all.
